We're not an interstate agency, an offshore team, or a franchise. We're a small, dedicated web design studio based in Tanunda, and we've been building websites for Barossa businesses since 2014.
12 years designing websites · Based in Tanunda · Barossa Valley local
"I grew up in the Barossa, moved to Adelaide to study graphic design and web development, and came back in 2014 because there's nowhere I'd rather be — and because I could see that Barossa businesses were getting underserved by agencies that didn't understand what makes this region unique. The wineries, the tourism businesses, the cafes, the trades — they all have specific needs that a generic agency in the city doesn't understand the way a local does."
Barossa Web Design started in 2014 when our founder Daniel Krause returned to Tanunda after a decade working in digital agencies in Adelaide and Melbourne. He noticed that Barossa businesses — especially smaller wineries and tourism operators — were either paying too much for agencies that didn't understand their market, or settling for cheap template sites that weren't generating any results.
The Barossa Valley is unlike anywhere else in Australia. It's not just wine country — it's a complex ecosystem of producers, tourism operators, tradespeople, and service businesses all competing for the attention of visitors who plan their trips months in advance and search heavily online before they arrive. A generic website doesn't cut it here. You need content that answers the specific questions Barossa visitors ask, a site that loads fast on a mobile in the middle of the valley, and a Google Business Profile that puts you on the map for all the right searches.
That understanding is built into everything we do. When we write copy for a cellar door website, we're drawing on 12 years of knowing this region — what questions tourists ask, what seasonal patterns look like, which words people use when they search for experiences in the Barossa versus the Eden Valley, and how to differentiate a boutique family winery from a larger estate online.

We believe a website is only valuable if it does one of three things: gets found on Google, generates enquiries or bookings, or sells products directly. Everything we build is evaluated against those outcomes — not against how it looks in a portfolio screenshot.
That's why we're serious about SEO from day one. Every website we build is fast (we test all sites on mobile connection speeds representative of what visitors experience in the Barossa), properly structured for Google, and submitted to Search Console at launch. We set up Google Business Profile for every client, because in 2026 the map pack is where most local searches end — and it's where your business needs to appear.
We're also honest about what we can and can't achieve. If you're a new business going up against established competitors with hundreds of reviews, we'll tell you that ranking takes time and explain exactly what to expect. We don't overpromise and underdeliver — we'd rather underpromise and then show you the results.
We've been involved in the Barossa community since day one. We sponsor the Tanunda Football Club and provide pro-bono website work for the Barossa & Light Emergency Relief volunteer organisation. We're members of the Barossa Grape & Wine Association and the Barossa Australia tourism board.
In 2023 and 2024, we partnered with the Barossa Council's small business program to offer subsidised website consultations for new Barossa businesses. We care about the economic health of this region — it's where we live.
